What is a Plant Swap?

A plant swap is an event where people gather to trade cuttings or rooted plants. You can take as many plant pieces as you’d like to trade on the day. People often add plant information to the pieces.

Every plant swap has different rules and set ups (how many plants you can bring, entrance fees, types of plants etc).

However, if you’ve never been to one, you can expect something like this:

Before the event officially begins, you have a few minutes to look around and see what everyone has. When the event starts, you can make your way to the table where you noticed a plant that you’d like to have. Remember people might be making their way to your table at the same time for a plant they noticed, so it’s a careful dance between spaces and people. You can trade items more than once. So if you traded for a previous item but now see something you’d rather have, you can use your newly traded item to make another exchange.
